The review is devoted to the most pressing issues of etiology, classification, diagnosis and treatment rectovaginal fistulas. psychosocial impact a fistula on women’s quality life cannot be overemphasized. common causes are postoperative obstetric complications, inflammatory bowel disease, complications radiation therapy, neoplasms. A combination advanced imaging techniques, physical examination, clinical experience can help determine location cause fistula. therapeutic options varied, but results often unsatisfactory. In this regard, choice strategy for fistulas should based localization concomitant pathology. Despite prevalence serious consequences fistulas, there no generally accepted scientifically approach surgical treatment. Collaboration between obstetricians-gynecologists colorectal surgeons, detailed preoperative assessment, consideration optimal correct technique achieve successful outcome in patients. aim study evaluate, basis literature sources, problem patients with modern possibilities improving interventions methodological analysis was domestic foreign problem. Scientific articles were selected period 2016–2021, largest randomized controlled trials area. article provides an overview main management strategies technical approaches that currently effective eliminating socially disabling condition.
